<strong>Effect:</strong> Chemical contamination of soil, water, and air is linked to cancer clusters, reproductive harm, and long-term ecosystem damage, often concentrated near industrial sites.<br>
<strong>Business&#8217;s role in the solution:</strong> Businesses can eliminate or substitute hazardous chemicals in production, invest in safer alternatives, and ensure proper containment and disposal protocols are followed without exception.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong style="color:#2E7D32;">15. Hazardous waste accumulation</strong><br>
Industrial and electronic hazardous waste continues to accumulate faster than safe disposal infrastructure can process it in many regions, a concern tracked globally under the Basel Convention framework.<br>
